Architectural Draftsperson

Overview: Saba Bros Tiling is seeking a skilled Architectural Draftsperson to join our team. The Architectural Draftsperson will play a pivotal role in designing our architectural projects by translating conceptual designs into detailed technical drawings and plans. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of architectural principles, proficiency in CAD software, graphic design and excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

• Drafting: Produce detailed architectural drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and details, using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Technical Documentation: Prepare accurate and comprehensive technical documentation for construction projects, building documentation, ensuring compliance with building codes, regulations, and standards.
• Visualization: Creation of 3D models and renderings to help visualize design concepts and communicate ideas effectively.
• Graphic Design: Basic understand of Microsoft Suite and basic graphic design for colouring and presenting documentation.
• Revision Management: Maintain organized files and documentation, manage revisions, and update drawings as necessary throughout the design and construction phases of projects.
• Collaboration: Work closely with estimating team members to develop and refine design concepts into functional and constructible drawings.
• Quality Control: Review drawings and documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project specifications and requirements.
• Communication: Effectively communicate with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, builders, contractors, and clients, to coordinate design intent and resolve technical issues.

Qualification & Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in architecture, drafting, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in architectural drafting, preferably within an architectural firm or design studio.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Sketchup, Revit or Rhino.) for drafting and detailing.
• Knowledge of Australian building codes, regulations, and standards.
• Familiarity with architectural drafting conventions and practices.
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in drafting technical drawings and documentation.
• Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.
• Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload to meet project deadlines effectively.

Salary: $50,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
