HOBAN Recruitment is looking for a Senior Payroll Officer to join our client, a major South Australian Government Agency, in their People Performance Business Group. This is a temporary full-time position for 3 months, starting as soon as possible. The location is Adelaide (Victoria Square).
About the role As a Senior Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for:
Processing payroll for over 10,000 employees using Chris 21
Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, awards, and agreements
Providing expert advice and guidance to the business and stakeholders on payroll matters
Leading and supervising a team of Payroll Officers
Resolving complex payroll issues and queries
Liaising with external agencies such as ATO, Superannuation Funds, and Workers Compensation
Preparing and reconciling payroll reports and statements
Contributing to continuous improvement and quality assurance of payroll processes and systems
About you To be successful in this role, you will have:
Extensive experience in payroll processing and administration, preferably in a large and complex organisation
Working knowledge of Chris 21 or another payroll system
Sound knowledge of payroll legislation, awards, and agreements
Leadership skills to provide expert advice, make decisions, and lead the team
High attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
