Shared Services SA (SSSA) delivers corporate and business services to SA government with a focus on service delivery improvement through consolidated systems and processes. Payroll Services, as part of Shared Services SA manages the payroll function for most South Australian government employees paying 105,000 people $8.6b per year with 300 staff.

Job Description:
The Senior Payroll Officer contributes to the delivery of professional, accurate and timely payroll services to client agencies and employees of the South Australian Government, in accordance with the Service Catalogue, Payroll Service Design/Operating Level Responsibilities document, customer service principles and legislative requirements
A typical day will see you processing leave applications, salary and contracts and allowances as well as checking standard reports and managing exceptions, you will also help us identify process improvements. Customer Service is a high priority for us, not only in the customer service specific roles but for those in processing roles as well.
Special Conditions:
- Payroll experience is required
- CHRIS21 experience is preferred but not essential
- The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a satisfactory SAPOL Clearance or General Employment Probity Check as directed by Shared Services SA.
Shared Services will initiate appropriate background screenings for successful applicants at Shared Services SA’s expense. Applicants should not initiate their own screening checks or clearances and doing so will not entitle the applicant to reimbursement from Shared Services SA of costs incurred.
- Multiple short-term Full Time and Part Time, Fixed Temporary Term Contracts for up to 6 months will be available in the coming weeks and months. All of our positions have pathways to ongoing employment.
