Senior Payroll Officer

Our Client:

Perks People Solutions are partnering with a community focussed and fast-growing organisation based in the Northern Suburbs of Adelaide to recruit a Senior Payroll Officer. The role is for a 12-month contract period and works in a team to lead the delivery of an effective end-to-end payroll process. 
 
The Role:

• Reporting to the Payroll Team Leader and managing the full payroll process.
• Maintain the payroll system and employee records.
• Review and verify authorised time sheets and salaries time sheets.
• Review, process and certify the fortnightly payroll and one-off-pays.
• Process termination and redundancy payments.
• Maintain superannuation schedules and payroll-related costing and allocations.
• Perform payroll and general ledger reconciliations.
• Interpretation of awards and legislation and perform the correct application.
• Build and maintain strong collaborative working relationships with business units.
• Solving system queries and data integrity work as required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of the payroll function.
• Assist with payroll projects as requested.

Skills and experience required:

• Strong proven experience leading a payroll function within a large commercial, not for profit or government organisation.
• Experience working with complex Awards and/or EBA’s essential.
• Ability to prioritise and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to deal confidential and sensitive information.
• Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously.
• Advanced computer literacy and experience with payroll systems essential.
