We are seeking a self-driven and results-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our accounting team. Working under the direction of the Accounts manager and CFO, you will actively contribute to a positive organizational structure and achieve the highest standards of integrity and performance.
Qualifications & experience
- Formal degree in accounting essential.
- Minimum relevant accounting local experience in Australia required of two years.
- Sound understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Experience with ERP system, experience in NetSuite JCurve accounting software will be an advantage.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to deliver on deadlines and work autonomously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Accounts Payable including accurate suppliers' bills entry, assist in preparation & processing of payment runs, handling staff cash expenses claim check and booking in system, corporate credit card check and entry.
- Accounts receivable including timely raising of sales invoices and receipting of funds to relevant customer accounts, assist with AR collections.
- Assist in preparation of month end & yearend financial close processes.
- Assist with payroll processing, preparation and lodgement of payroll tax returns.
- Responsible for monthly BAS preparation and lodgement with ATO.
- Fixed assets monitoring and reconciliation including depreciation on monthly basis.
- Daily bank reconciliations, assist in monitoring working capital and cash flow position.
- Working Knowledge of Business insurances and Australia workers insurance cover, ensure adequate insurance coverage and claims settled on time.
- Address queries from internal and external stakeholders, liaise with auditors, and handle audit queries.
- Any other finance processing and administrative duties as required by management.
