About the role:
We are currently seeking a motivated Assistant Accountant to provide high quality financial accounting services to the key Business Streams within BaptistCare. This includes Residential and Retirement Living, At Home, Community Services and Housing and Support Services.
Reporting to the Financial Manager Corporate, this exciting opportunity will see you provide efficient support to the team by:
- Preparing daily bank reconciliations and co-ordinate the clearance of unmatched items;
- Preparing journals for profit and loss and balance sheet accounts;
- Preparing daily/monthly balance sheet reconciliations;
- Assisting with the preparation of data for regulatory reporting such as BAS, FBT, statutory accounts and external audits;
- Assisting the Finance Manager Corporate with ad-hoc tasks and analysis.

About you:
To be considered, you will have:
- Diploma of Accounting qualification or higher.
- Relevant workplace experience in a similar role essential.
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation of journals and reconciliations.
- High proficiency in Financial Management System (FMS) such as TechOne and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication skills written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build professional relationships.
- Time management skills, including the ability to meet reporting deadlines on multiple assignments.
