Job description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparation & processing of month-end journals (inclusive of prepayments and accruals).
  • Overseeing accounts payable and receivable processes including end-of-month invoicing.
  • Monthly reconciliation of suppliers' statements and make sure no invoices are missing.
  • Preparation and submission of monthly & quarterly BAS & IAS returns.
  • Preparation and lodgement of monthly payroll tax returns for multiple states.
  • Working closely with Auditors for the Year-end audit and other finance matters.
  • Working closely with Auditors for the Year-end audit and other finance matters.
  • Assisting with the preparation of management, regulatory, and statutory reports.
  • Assisting in budget planning, reporting, and monitoring of expenses.
  • Preparation of ad-hoc reports and financial information with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Performing monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Maintenance of the company's Chart of Accounts.
  • Reconcile all intercompany transactions and reconcile intercompany loan accounts.
  • Maintain financial reporting calendar & manage monthly reporting cycle checklist.
  • Provide assistance to Finance Controller in ad-hoc finance matters as directed.
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as required

  • Previous experience in a similar role 2+ years experience essential
  • Unlimited Australian Work Rights
  • Sound knowledge and experience in MYOB Account Right, Microsoft office, RMS and other ERP systems like MS Dynamics or NetSuite
  • Working knowledge of accounting methods
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Must be a team player & ability to take direction
