TAFW is a key supplier to the HVAC industry in Australia.
We are seeking an experienced accounting assistant to join our friendly team who will be responsible for preparing accurate, timely and error-free accounts in collaboration with the finance director and in line with work schedules. Regular tasks will include processing and reviewing payroll, accounts payable/receivable and bank reconciliation.
Summary
Position: Assistant Accountant with a view to becoming Company Accountant
This is a full-time position located in Auburn – Sydney Inner-West
Reports to: The Finance Director
This position works in collaboration with the Finance Director and is required to manage general accountant duties and ensure company processes run smoothly.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Performance Indicators
· Collaboration with the Finance Director to deliver payroll, bank reconcilliations and compliance
· Attend to client queries and communicating timely solutions
· Ensure security and integrity of company accounts
· Responsiveness to tasks assigned and completed on time
Accounts Receivable:
· Prepare and process invoices, liaising with customers and dealing with invoicing queries
· Assist in setting up new customers
· Allocate customers payment
· Assist with chasing outstanding debt and investigating discrepancies
· Prepare and process customer statements
Accounts Payable:
· Process suppliers’ invoices, liaising with suppliers and dealing with purchasing queries
· Assist in setting up new suppliers
· Allocate suppliers payment
· Enter receiving stocks from suppliers
· Assist with stocks count and investigating discrepancies
· Prepare suppliers’ statement for month-end payment
· Process Petty Cash expenses and staff claims receipts
Payroll:
· Process and review payroll accurately and on time
· Advise Finance Director when files are ready for bank authorisation
· Review and lodge with ATO
· Review accuracy of payroll Eg salary sacrifice payments
Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Tasks:
· Process outstanding journals and end of month adjustments
· Reconcile all balance sheet and income accounts
· Run reports to budget check for unexplained variances
· Prepare MYOB papers
· Prepare, review and lodge BAS/IAS and FBT returns by due date
· Review and pay superannuation liabilities
· Assist in preparation year-end reconciliation
· Maintain and update register including depreciation and reconcile general ledger
Banking:
· Process all transactions in bank statement
· Complete weekly and monthly bank reconciliation
· Complete weekly and monthly cash reconciliation
· Assist with general ledger inquiries and follow up to correct discrepancies
Office Administration:
· Perform clerical duties, including, but not limited to, mailing, and filing correspondence, placing orders, and answering phone calls
· Cover reception upon occasion
· Interact with clients, visitors, and suppliers
· Sort and distribute incoming mails and emails
· Type correspondence, meeting notes, and forms among other documents
· Photocopy, scan, and file appropriate documents
· Maintain accurate records and enters data
· Assist with organizing events when necessary
· Sign for delivered packages and distribute them to the appropriate recipient
· Interact with directors when necessary
· Maintain stock of supplies by anticipating work requirements, ordering supplies, and distributing supplies where necessary
· Assist in ad-hoc duties when required
Essential Skills and Experience required:
· Tertiary qualified in an accounting discipline
· Experience with hands-on bookkeeping/payroll/accounting including BAS, FBT and other taxation reporting
· Demonstrated experience with accounting software MYOB
· High level numeracy and reconciliation skills, with demonstrated attention to detail
· Demonstrated ability to use initiative,prioritise deadlines
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
· Vietnamese speaking (desirable)

Salary: $55,285.89 – $86,575.85 per year
