Our client, a rapidly expanding company, is seeking an
Assistant Accountant to join their collaborative Finance team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the company's growthAccounts Payable Management:
- Handle all accounts payable duties, including invoice entry in XERO
- Ensure compliance with payroll, GST, and ATO regulations
- Collaborate with Finance Director and operational teams for accurate GL coding and invoice approval
- Maintain working capital schedule and conduct monthly bank reconciliations.
- Payroll Administration:
- Oversee payroll system operations and process monthly payroll
- Stay informed about updates in payroll and superannuation legislation
- Assistant Accountant Tasks:
- Review monthly Profit and Loss and Balance sheets for accuracy
- Aid in monthly reporting by generating reports for the Finance Director
- Establish new accounts and sub-categories in the GL to accommodate evolving reporting needs
- Manage bi-year end accruals process with necessary documentation for audit purposes
- Assist with year-end audit queries and maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedule
- Prepare and submit BAS returns and GST reconciliations
- Assist in various GL reconciliations
Requirements:- 2+ years of proven experience as an Assistant Accountant
- Proficiency in XERO is essential
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach.
