About the position
Qualitas Healthcare Australia is looking for a full time Assistant Accountant with the right attitude and passion and at least 3 years of relevant experience and a minimum of accounting qualification from a local major institution (bachelor/master’s degree).
This role reports to the Finance Manager Primary Care.
- Preparing and submitting monthly BAS returns, Payroll tax lodgements, Superannuation, and FBT returns.
- Assisting in preparing income tax lodgements.
- Assisting in preparing budgets to allocate funds on company's expenditure and perform audits to ensure financial budgets are met.
- Performing balance sheet reconciliations, analyse P&L, and accruals posting.
- Managing the fixed assets register and hire purchases; calculate depreciation for all fixed assets; report analysis related to fixed assets as per management requests.
- Reviewing rent schedule and prepayment.
- Preparing month-end financial reports & variance analysis.
- Delivering training for different departments with any update on accounting system.
- Managing wages and doctors fee calculations and paying superannuation.
- Assisting in cash flow and performing transfer between bank accounts.
- Undertaking bank, petty cash, credit card and debtors reconciliations
- Reporting and advising compliance issues related to Australian Taxation
- Overseeing the process of staff expenses.
- Assisting in preparing financial statements for management and statutory bodies’ requirements.

- Advanced Excel skills
- Highly proficient in XERO/MYOB/EXONET
- Multi-tasking skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills with ability to work autonomously and in a team environment to meet deadlines.
