THE ROLE
In this role, you will work in a small team assist day to day operations for Wilson Security Victoria and Tasmania. This will be offered as a full-time permanent role, with access to parking at our Essendon Fields office (VIC) and a relaxed and welcoming team environment! Our team is in the office 3 days per week, with the flexibility to work from home 2 days.
The Accounts Assistant is responsible for ensuring that appropriate financial practices and procedures are applied to transactions across every business unit of the group and for providing support to Wilson Services and any stakeholders on financial matters concerning the group, in addition to accurate and timely reporting on performance.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Commercial Management
• Assist with the development and preparation of financial budgets and forecasts
• Prepare monthly management accounts
• Review and analyse business dashboard reporting for the purpose of capturing key labour metrics and trends
• Assist with the monitoring of all sub-contractor performance and explore measures for cost control
• Provide support and clarify financial reporting matters
• Ensure that appropriate financial, invoicing and accounting practices are communicated, understood and adhered to throughout the business
• Conduct regular P&L and Hours reviews with Operations team / workforce planning team and make recommendations for improvement
2. Reporting
• Complete monthly management reporting according to set timeframes
• Provide commentary on business dashboard reporting
• Review historical data, trends and provide analysis on performance
• Conduct regular reviews on revenue generation, cost control and general expenditure issues
• Liaise with sub-contractors and supplier networks to monitor and communicate agreed rate structure
• Produce and distribute forecasts and budgets
• Complete monthly and year end reconciliation processes
• Review and monitoring of payroll compliance
ABOUT YOU
Our ideal applicants will have:
• Tertiary qualification in Accounting (or similar)
• CPA will be highly regarded but not essential (we are happy to provide support if you are studying towards)
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a financial accounting role
• Experience in the preparation, implementation and review of budgets
• Ability to effectively communicate with internal stakeholders including multiple Workforce Planners and Operations Managers
• Analytical mindset
