Access theThe Assistant Crown Solicitor's key responsibilities include;
- Contribute as part of the leadership community of Crown Law to the development of the annual business plan and communicate this to the Practice and support the vision of Crown Law.
- Provide up to date, expert and authoritative professional legal advice in relation to the particular specialist field of law of the team to all client areas within the Queensland Government.
- Sponsor the strategies contained in the business pillars of Crown Law.
- Manage and supervise the day to day operations of a specialist legal team that is customer focused, results oriented and commercially based, including responsibility for the oversight of all of the team's legal matters.
- Respond to and manage any client queries and complaints on behalf of the team.
- Approve and sign all legal advices issued by the team, and approve all briefings of counsel by the team.
- Execute court documents on behalf of the Crown Solicitor relating to the team's files.
- Build the business of Crown Law by proactively meeting with clients and undertaking reinvestment activities back into the Practice including undertaking the role of a client manager for nominated clients.
- Provide a supportive environment where team members strive to achieve best practice, and where information is communicated and shared freely.
- Ensure that the productivity and revenue targets of the team and individual team members are met and report to Crown Law's Strategic Leadership Team on financial performance.
- Oversee all client billing of the team.
- Act as an expert source of advice to team members on complex and sensitive legal matters.
- Brief the Attorney-General in relation to urgent or key issues.
- Prepare and submit urgent Cabinet and ministerial submissions.
- Conduct and/or oversee the provision of training for Crown Law's clients and prospective clients in relation to the Assistant Crown Solicitor's areas of expertise.
- Ensure appropriate allocation of work practices within the team is in place and that the correct level of resources is utilized to meet customer requirements.
- Leads a specialist team effectively, takes unpopular stands if necessary and supports and implements the decisions of the Strategic Leadership Team.
- As required, participate in the annual quality assurance external assessment on behalf of their team to support Crown Law's Quality Assurance Legal Best Practice LAW9000.
- Achievement of CPD points; and
- Participation in feedback processes such as 360◦.

- The requirement to meet set targets for billable hours; and
- Quality and timeliness measures.
