Assistant Director Of The Early Learning Centre

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our Early Learning Centre as a Full-time Assistant Director. This role will have a teaching load of approximately 5 days per fortnight. 

Your role:

As Assistant Director of the ELC, a portion of this role will require you to teach in our Kindy room (4-5's) as well as provide administrative and logistical support to the Head of the Early Learning Centre. This role will be pivotal in developing our children’s lifelong love of learning by supporting and guiding children's learning and development as well as creating a supportive and thriving team environment. 

Responsibilities Include:

In addition to the role of Teacher;

• Display a sound knowledge of the Head of Early Learning's role to confidently step into that position in the Head's absence.
• Support and assist the Head of Early Learning on matters in relation to the Centre’s daily operations and supporting a rich Pedagogical Program.
• Maintain the Centre QIP, policies, procedures and practices.
• Maintain Centre records in relation to staff and children.
• Effectively and respectfully liaise with staff as a mentor through daily practices, while leading the High Quality Educational Program.
• Play a pivotal role in building a positive rapport with all stakeholders to maintain an Educational Program of Excellence.
• Be an ELC Educational Leader, working closely with the Head of Early Learning on the Approved Kindergarten Program
• Build active and positive connections with the College, local and the wider community.
• Any other duties at the discretion of the Head of Early Learning.
• Possess excellent communication, organisation and time management skills.
• Support the educational team and centre management to meet and exceed the National Quality Standards. 

Key Selection Criteria:

• Demonstrated experience in early childhood education within a leadership position.
• Evidence of attention to detail.
• Willingness to lead and be a part of a well established and collaborative team.
• Sound knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards.
• Experience using the Xplor database - or similar program preferred.
• Previous experience providing high level care of children.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer and technology skills.
• An active interest in and commitment to the education of young children.

Essential Qualifications:

• Current Queensland College of Teacher Registration. 
• Degree/Diploma qualifications relevant to the position
• First-aid and CPR qualified
