Assistant Event Coordinator

Assistant Event Coordinator (contract part time role, at least 10 hours a week) are to assist with the setup, pack down and running of different types of events. Working under the directions of the Event Manager they will also be the point of contact for all casual staff members, providing basic training and completing event checks.

Typical activities include:

• Assist with loading and unloading vehicles.
• Setting up event function functions in line with client requests.
• Placing decorations/centrepieces and installing chair covers, sashes and other table linens.
• Setting out materials such as programs, menus, place cards and favors.
• Assist with event registration and check-in.
• Directional event day assistance.

• Assisting with expo events and/or brochure distribution.

• Working with the Event Manager on upcoming runsheets and liasing with clients on an as needed basis (WFH basis, with portenial to increase)

• Assisting to help take down events, cleaning up and clearing away post function mess.

• Taking inventory of all items (upon set up and pack down).

• Completing laundry runs and equipement collection as needed (kms to be reimbursed)

• Required to report any lost or damaged items to the Event Manager.

Events can occur during the week, over weekends and may include late nights. You must have your own transport. Looking for someone with a great attitude and the ability to multi-task. Must be a fluent communicator and possess good customer service skills. Schedules are provided 4-6 weeks in advance to assist with planning and some duties have flexible time frames.

This role will start as a 3 month contract with the intention of expanding into a permantent role with more hours as the season grows.

The event industry is an agile and fast-paced environment with event bump in/out shifts outside of typical business hours. We offer incentives with penalty rates, reimbursement of kms driven on on certain events and paid bump out parking as well as working with a fun team!

Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident with working rights. Preference that you have your drivers licence and access to a car.

Ideally suited for someone who is looking to supplement their income or is a student with WFH abilities.
