The Venue:
The Como Hotel is one of the oldest buildings in the Sutherland Shire and is an important part of the Shire’s heritage. The Hotel caters to all ages and features a bistro, a sports bar, TAB and Keno facilities, a lounge area, kids area and a unique functions space. The venue has an extensive courtyard and gazebo area that captures the spectacular view of the Scylla Bay.
The Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and organised Events Coordinator to join our team. As the Events Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a wide range of events, from private parties and corporate functions to themed evenings. You will work closely with our management team to ensure that each event exceeds our guests' expectations and reflects the unique charm of the Como Hotel.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their event needs and preferences.
- Develop event proposals, including budget estimates and timelines.
- Coordinate all aspects of event planning, including venue selection, catering, entertainment, and decorations.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, staff, and clients to ensure seamless event execution.
- Oversee event setup, ensuring that all elements are in place according to the plan.
- Act as the main point of contact during events, addressing any issues or concerns that may arise.
- Evaluate the success of each event and provide recommendations for improvement.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in event planning and coordination, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.
- Creative thinker with a passion for creating memorable experiences.
