About the role
This company is seeking to enhance its team by recruiting an Assistant Development Manager or a Development Manager with a strong background in the early stages of property development. This role is pivotal for someone with experience in project conception, planning, and securing approvals, focusing on setting the groundwork for successful projects.
The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of market analysis, feasibility studies, and stakeholder engagement, and be adept at navigating the complexities of the pre-development process. The new team member will play a crucial role in shaping the initial phases of development projects, working closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the strategic alignment of the company's vision and goals with project execution.
They have several projects at various stages currently under way consisting of residential, mixed-use, and commercial office. Reporting to the SDM, this new team member will be working across all these sectors.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct detailed market research and feasibility studies to assess the viability of potential development projects.
- Analyse financial, social, and environmental factors to ensure projects meet strategic goals.
- Coordinate with architects, planners, and consultants to develop project plans and designs.
- Manage the process of obtaining necessary permits and approvals from local authorities and regulatory bodies.
- Liaise with community groups, government entities, and other stakeholders to ensure projects align with community needs and expectations.
- Prepare project budgets and schedules and monitor adherence to these throughout the pre-development phase.
- Identify potential financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with the construction and delivery teams to ensure a seamless transition from planning to execution.
- Support cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met efficiently.
Ideal candidate
The ideal candidate for the Assistant Development Manager or Development Manager role at this company must have a solid background in real estate development, finance, commerce, or related field, with specific expertise in the early stages of property development.
