We are a family owned and operated Biomedical Engineering service company based in Fairfield, Victoria. We provide a range of accredited and independent technical services for the healthcare industry via a national service network and are a preferred supplier of Biomedical Engineering and technical services in the public and private healthcare sectors in Victoria. About you
You must hold suitable tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Electronics or Science and any previous Australian based Biomedical Engineering work experience is desired. You will have an ability to work autonomously, but also draw upon and feed into our team environment. You will demonstrate attention to detail and possess a diligent approach to technical and administrative activities, as well as customer requirements and special requests.

About the job
The job is primarily a field-based role at our client sites, requiring travel around Metropolitan Melbourne, Regional Victoria, and Interstate from time to time. Otherwise, it is based at our purpose-built office/workshops/warehouse in Fairfield, Victoria. Staff training, mentoring and competency assessment are important elements within our business and will be an ongoing feature of your employment to ensure a high standard of work. A fully maintained company vehicle will be provided as part of your salary package. Tools, test equipment, spare parts/materials, and a laptop will also be supplied as required. You will need to be equipped with a smartphone to enable access to our computer systems whilst in the field.
The range of technical activities include (i) installation, acceptance, and commissioning/validation, (ii) scheduled inspection, testing, calibration, and planned maintenance, (iii) reactive maintenance and repairs, and (iv) advice and consultation.
Customer requirements go hand in hand with any activity from the following standards of technology:
- Biomedical equipment including patient monitors, infusion devices, defibrillators, electro-surgical units, ventilators, anaesthetic machines, diagnostic ultrasounds, and intra-oral x-ray machines
- Body and cardiac protected electrical installations
- Medical gas installations
- CSSD equipment including steam and low-temperature sterilisers, washer disinfectors, heat sealers, ultrasonic cleaners, and drying cabinets
Our Biomedical Engineers provide an interface for clinicians and medical technology, and therefore you will draw upon excellent communication skills to liaise with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to bring service requests to conclusion and most importantly, ensure safety is preserved for patients and clinicians alike in the healthcare environment.
Administrative activities, such as replying to email and accurately recording work notes/results in computer systems in a timely manner are required throughout your day. Participating in and building our Knowledge Database is also highly valued.
