Position Overview: We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant. This role is integral to the smooth operation of our office and the financial management of our business. The ideal candidate will be organised, reliable, and adept at handling various administrative tasks while also managing bookkeeping duties with precision.
Adding to the bookkeeper role there is an opportunity to learn and be involved with front desk duties, interaction with patients and more administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software XERO and spreadsheets.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoicing, issuing payments, and reconciling accounts.
- Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, on a regular basis.
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card statements to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Liaise with accountants, doctors, suppliers, staff.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in bookkeeping and/or administrative roles, preferably in a professional services environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software XERO and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Familiarity with basic financial principles and practices.
- Certificate or higher in Bookkeeping / Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
- Professional demeanour and ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Positive and welcoming attitude providing excellent patient service with empathy and respect.
