About GWA
GWA is a specialised hydrogeology consultancy with projects located across Australia and internationally. We require the immediate services of a Part Time bookkeeper to help with project and business administration and support the management of project related accruals.
While we have an office in Birtinya, the role does not require constant or rigid in-office hours and presence. This role would be ideal for someone willing to work a flexible schedule, or perhaps someone with limited time available during normal day to day business hours. We expect the role is likely to average 3 full days per week with busier times at month end coinciding with invoicing periods and business reporting obligations.
An ability to operate alone and without constant oversight and communications is a requirement due to the nature of our business, and the often absence of staff on project sites.
This flexibility means candidates from anywhere on the Sunshine Coast could apply for the position.
Required Skills
Good knowledge and understanding of Australian accounting principles. Attention to detail and time management skills. Ability to multitask, plan and meet deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Xero and Hubdoc, including MYOB & Quickbooks desirable.

Xero Certified, Accounting Degree
Tasks
- Perform all facets of Xero processing and reconciling and daily processing of transactions on the dashboard.
- Bank reconciliation.
- Processing of Payroll / STP / leave entitlements / termination pays and reconciling to ledger.
- Processing auto superannuation and reconciling to ledger.
- Referring tax and business matters such as asset purchases to accountant.
- Business processes (where required) including: debtors, creditors and ledger reconciliations as required.
- Xero / chart of accounts set ups.
- Xero project setups.
- Time / timesheet management in Xero or external to Xero to support invoicing.
- Excel data input and excel business tracking spreadsheet updates.
- Using Hubdoc to process expenses into Xero.
- General support work, as required at direction of Director.
- Constant awareness of ways to improve and develop systems.
- Other miscellaneous tasks.
