Job description

Mamamia is on the lookout for a Brand Manager to join our best-in-class Podcast team.

But first, here's a bit about us.

Mamamia is Australia's largest women's company.

Our core purpose is to make the world a better place for women and girls. That's what guides everything we do. And, uh, we do a lot. Mamamia reaches seven million women each month across our written, video, audio, and social platforms and we have the largest women's podcast network in the world.

What we're looking for.

Mamamia seeks an adept and innovative Brand Manager to lead our chart-topping Mamamia Out Loud Podcast, a pivotal show with vast commercial potential.

As the linchpin within the Mamamia Out Loud ecosystem, this role intricately weaves together various facets - hosts, social media, events, written content, and commercial initiatives. You'll safeguard the Mamamia Out Loud brand and oversee key performance indicators like social growth, downloads, and community engagement. Efficiently managing weekly meetings with hosts, you'll optimise their time and gradually be entrusted to make content decisions regarding the direction of the show. Your influence extends to content approval, approving social content and shaping newsletters to embody Mamamia Out Loud's unique voice.

In summary, you'll be at the heart of Mamamia Out Loud's success, ensuring brand integrity, meeting performance goals, and fostering seamless collaboration with hosts.

Here's some of the stuff you can expect to be doing if you join us:

  • Brand Custodian: Primary contact, safeguarding MMOL brand and ensuring consistency.
  • KPI Management: Oversee key indicators: social growth, downloads, subscriptions, newsletters, and community.
  • Host Collaboration: Efficiently manage WIP meetings, making content decisions on behalf of hosts.
  • Show Promotion and Growth: Identify cross-promotional opportunities for enhanced reach.
  • Commercial Partnerships: Collaborate on partnerships, balancing editorial integrity and commercial needs.
  • Content Approval: Approve social media content, conduct final audio checks, and manage newsletters embodying the show's unique voice.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to become the cornerstone of our highly successful Mamamia Out Loud Podcast where you won't just be managing a brand, you'll be shaping the heartbeat of one of Australia's number 1 news and pop culture.

Now, a bit about you.

  • Demonstrated expertise in steering high-performing shows or brands, emphasising a commitment to audience/customer engagement and substantial growth.
  • In-depth knowledge of social media platforms, digital publishing, and audience growth strategies.
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills, capturing the unique 'voice' of MMOL across platforms.
  • Innovative thinking to enhance podcast growth and commercial potential.
  • Strong copywriting, visual content creation, and storytelling abilities.
  • Exceptional organisational skills for a coordinated and optimised podcast ecosystem.
  • Skilled in managing diverse stakeholders and priorities.
  • Collaborative, takes ownership, communicates effectively, and values open feedback.
  • Prioritises audience and commercial partner needs in decision-making
  • Enthusiastic: Genuine passion for the MMOL Podcast and the podcasting industry.

Life at Mamamia.

We're fast-paced, innovative, and deeply collaborative. Mamamia feels small enough that you can create real and tangible change, but has the structure to support your ideas with experienced and industry-leading teams, and deliver them to an audience of millions of women every month.

We have a startup spirit within a scaled-up business structure and we're incredibly proud of the culture and community we've created. Our team is inclusive, passionate, and fun (..although apparently, not very modest about it); many lifelong friendships and connections have been forged in Mamamia HQ.

But enough about us, let's talk about how we can help you. At Mamamia, we want to support all of our staff in kicking as many career goals as possible so that's why we'll support you in getting involved in the things you're actually interested in. Think you might want to broaden your scope? Get exposure to another team in the business? Try something new and develop your skills? We'll help you make it happen and cheer you on the whole way.

On top of all that, Mamamia also offers:

  • Flexible working conditions
  • The opportunity to celebrate your birthday and ongoing dedication with additional leave days
  • Paid parental leave
  • Paid volunteer leave to get involved with our charity partners
  • The opportunity to work for a purpose-driven company and help us make the world a better place for women and girls.

One more thing!

Mamamia is an equal opportunity employer, all applicants will be considered regardless of your race, sexuality, religion, colour, gender identity, or parental status. We strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to apply. If you require any assistance, including a workplace adjustment to participate in the recruitment process please reach out to **@mamamia.com.au.
