The opportunity:
The Business Analyst is responsible for planning and executing business analysis activities for the many strategic IT projects within the business.
What you will do:
Business Analysis Planning & Monitoring
- Plan and document the business analysis approach, communication and activities for HCL Aus IT projects, including stakeholder roles and responsibilities analysis
- Monitor your progress and adhere to timelines and quality standards at all times. Be prepared to escalate risks and issues to the Business Managers and Project Managers as needed.
Project Scoping, gathering intelligence, Analysis, Management & Communication
- Identify and use appropriate and effective communication methods with all stakeholders.
- Accurately source estimate of work effort and duration for assigned pieces of work.
- Elicit, develop and document stakeholder and solution requirements that facilitate successful solution development ensuring compliance with traceability standards.
- Identify and complete the appropriate scoping using agreed BA templates and techniques – including use cases, functional specifications, high level requirements, context drawings, process flow diagrams and integration flows.
- Organise, facilitate and minute effective and structured meetings
- Ensure that stakeholder and solution requirements are reviewed, validated and approved by peers and the project team using agreed processes.
- Prioritise, organise, specify and model requirements using various techniques
- Effectively manage changes to requirements using agreed processes
Solution Assessment and validation
- Assessment of proposed functional solutions to determine which solution best fits the business need, identify gaps and shortcomings in solutions, and determine necessary workarounds or changes to the solution.
- Co-ordinate and conduct testing with business stakeholders to facilitate and support system, integration, business validation testing.
- Project follow up to ensure timelines, costs and outcomes are achieved as per the project scope
- Ensure successful closure of appropriate projects
This is achieved through superior communication and collaboration skills which enable the Business Analyst to elicit and document business and system requirements efficiently and accurately.
What we are looking for:
The Business Analyst should be proficient in a range of analysis tools and techniques, collaborating with IT and Business Stakeholders. An essential part of their role is being responsible for bridging the gap between IT and the business. An excellent knowledge and understanding of SAP and the operational requirements of a logistics business are essential.
