About this opportunity

Based in SGL’s Melbourne office located in Tullamarine and reporting to the National Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for further developing new business opportunities in the Victorian market. SGL provides ocean and air import and export, coastal shipping, project cargo, cross trade, valuable cargo, critical cargo, resources logistics and in-house customs management services.

The Ideal Applicant

Sadleirs Global Logistics (SGL) is seeking an energetic self-motivated Business Development representative with proven experience in B2B service sales, who presents professionally and with personality. A practical thinker with excellent social, verbal, and written English skills, you have the drive to succeed and are a genuine, positive, approachable, and accountable person.

Key Duties

  • Research, identify and strategically approach compatible prospective clients.
  • Develop business relationships and effectively manage your new business pipeline for every opportunity, to exceed KPI revenue targets.
  • Assist in preparation of bids, RFQs and quotations with customers and suppliers.
  • Consistently work with the sales and operational teams to deliver exceptional outcomes for our customers and company.
  • Manage your performance and contribution through effective reporting.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Two years plus experience working for a reputable company in B2B sales or Business Development role, ideally within the freight forwarding and logistics industry
  • General business acumen and proven ability to meet KPI's and develop collaborative professional relationships
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and time management skills
  • Ability to lead new client meetings on and off site
  • A refreshing and positive attitude, with an aptitude to learn quickly and think on your feet
  • The right to live and work in Australia
  • Consent to conduct National Police and Traffic Record checks
  • A full Australian driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle.
