Vantage Freight Services is expanding our business and is looking for an experienced person in logistics and sales to join our team
Vantage Freight Services is a distinguished family-owned and operated business with a rich legacy spanning 25 years. We are located in Redfern, NSW with free parking on site for private cars and easy access from public transport.
We pride ourselves as a diverse, multicultural company that treats all members as our company's greatest assets. In our 25th year in the logistics industry, we are growing the business and are in need of a new member to aid in meeting company targets.
We are seeking for candidates for the position of Business Development Executive in Melbourne and Brisbane who will work closely with our Sales team, being responsible for the day-to-day coordination of shipments. Further details shall be discussed during the interview.
Previous logistics background and familiarity with the Cargowise system will be a huge advantage
--------------------------------------------- About the Role -----------------------------------------------------
The responsibilities would include but not be limited to:
1. Strong commercial awareness and experience of sales plans & target customers.
2. Prospecting new accounts, understanding client shipping needs, creating solutions involving air/ocean/project cargo transport, preparing quotes.
3. Requires coordinating operational teams internally to execute on sales agreements, managing a customer base by sales visit & consistent affective communication.
4. Achievement of sales target in ocean freight FCL/ LCL/ Air Freight / Project cargo and other KPI targets
5. Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers, anticipating their needs and enabling future bookings.
6. Use negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close business.
7. Running reports and presenting them on a quarterly basis.

1) You have at least 3 years of relevant work experience in freight forwarding and/or shipping
2) You have knowledge and connections in the Australian import & export market
3) You have an understanding of industry systems, procedures and best practices
4) You are a confident, well-connected networker with strong interpersonal skills able to communicate effectively and positively on all levels, with both clients & colleagues
5) You are able to deliver quality in any required reporting, analysis or business communications
6) As this is a completely remote work, you need to be able to work autonomously, honestly, and with integrity
7) You need to have a valid Australian Driver’s License and able to drive for client visits
8) You have used Cargowise as a tool in recording all your reports
9) You are proficient in other Microsoft Office tools such as Powerpoint, Excel, and Word
10) You are able to communicate in English
