Who we are looking for:

Qirx is currently recruiting for a full-time Business Development Manager to join our sales team in Canberra, ACT. As one of our Business Development Managers, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing effective sales and marketing strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and expanding existing client relationships in the federal government sector, and other market segments in the Canberra region
  • Preparing and presenting high-quality proposals, tenders, bids and presentations to potential and existing clients
  • Negotiating and closing contracts and agreements with clients and partners
  • Managing and overseeing the delivery of IT projects and ensuring customer satisfaction and quality standards
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, decision-makers and influencers in the federal government sector
  • Providing market intelligence and feedback to the management and technical team to support product and service development and improvement.
  • Representing the company at industry events and forums and promoting the company’s brand and reputation
  • Maintaining and updating client records utilising the companies CRM and ticketing system, including forecasts and pipeline, record sales activity, schedule follow-up activities as needed 
  • Maintaining a strong knowledge of services and products offered by the company while undergoing necessary continuous education.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Information Technology, Business Management, or a related field (preferred)
  • At least five years of experience in IT solution sales, Business Development or account management, preferably in the Federal government sector in Canberra
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the federal government IT procurement processes, policies and frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong technical knowledge of IT systems and solutions.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity and ethics
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL) may be beneficial
  • A valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle
