An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and driven Business Development Manager with a background in generators, compressors, lighting towers, civil construction or events, to join our Brisbane based team in our new facility in Darra QLD.
The core functions of the role are to drive the hire business, develop our client base, identify and pursue new business growth opportunities and most critically, be committed to contributing to a positive work culture.
Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Seek out and cold-call new potential customers
- Create and maintain high-level sales activity and maximise all hire sales opportunities
- Grow existing customer accounts and develop new business accounts
- Achievement of monthly invoicing objectives
- Establish and maintain relationships with the existing customer base
- Develop and execute a territory sales call plan
- Maintain an accurate customer database
The success applicant will have the following skills and experience:
- A strong sense of urgency and a "I will make it happen" attitude to get the job done and does not accept no for an answer
- Professional sales skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication style and computer literacy
- Proven customer rapport and relationship building skills
- Ability to follow up on quotes and convert into hire revenue
- Must be highly motivated and well presented
- Be able to work both autonomously and also be a strong internal team player
- Prepared to be hands-on and to assist in operational duties when required
- Ability to adapt to working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- You must be punctual, reliable and possess an excellent work ethic
Previous experience and success in a similar role and/or a good network within the construction, traffic, local government event industries in the Brisbane/SE Queensland region will be highly regarded, however, the successful applicant will be appointed primarily based on attitude and the desire to drive a business into the next phase of growth.
