Business Development Manager

About the Role:

As a Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in propelling our client's growth, both by generating new leads and nurturing existing relationships. This role demands a unique blend of creativity, dynamism, and superior interpersonal skills, enabling effective engagement with builders, architects, and key stakeholders. By ensuring our client is the preferred choice for bespoke solutions in architectural facades, your contribution will be instrumental in their success. Crucially, possessing pre-established connections and leads with Tier 1 and Tier 2 builders will be a significant advantage, allowing for the rapid advancement of our client's project pipeline.

Furthermore, this position is not exclusively suited to those with a background in Business Development. It also opens doors for individuals with diverse experiences within the construction industry, such as Construction Managers or Project Managers who have cultivated relationships with a variety of clients, Design Managers known for their vibrant personality, or professionals from a consultancy background (be it in engineering, facade design, acoustics, fire safety, etc.). The diverse nature of this role means that it offers a unique opportunity for those with the right mix of industry connections, expertise, and personality to make a significant impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities, aligning with our client's strategic vision and innovation in facade solutions.
  • Strengthen and expand relationships with existing clients, understanding their needs and delivering custom solutions.
  • Lead a team of estimators, inspiring them to achieve excellence and contributing to a collaborative work environment.
  • Represent our client in the industry, demonstrating their one-stop-shop capabilities and unique value proposition at events and forums.

What We're Looking For:

  • It is vital for the ideal candidate to possess established relationships and connections with Tier 1 and Tier 2 builders within the construction industry, utilising these existing networks to enhance the client's current pipeline of projects. (pre-requisite)
  • A seasoned professional with a strong background in sales, specifically within the construction or manufacturing industries. While tertiary education is valued, it's not a prerequisite for this role. What matters most is your hands-on experience and your ability to drive results.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a role with similar responsibilities, demonstrating your capability to forge and maintain significant industry relationships. If you come with a network of aligned stakeholders, you're exactly who we're looking for.
  • An individual who combines creativity and dynamism with a sociable, engaging personality. You should be someone who thrives in a team environment, prioritising collective success over individual achievements.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills are non-negotiable. You should have a verifiable history of securing new business opportunities and consistently meeting or surpassing sales targets.
  • Tech-savvy, with a proven ability to adeptly manage projects and maintain client relationships using modern software and CRM systems. Your organised approach to sales and client management will be key to your success in this role.
