The Customer & Business Development Manager reports to the Sales Director, APAC of TELUS Consumer Goods and acts as one of the key operators within the Sales & Customer Team, responsible for the growth and retention of a portfolio of customers and increasing new business opportunities. The role is focused on APAC region and TPX and Retail Execution products which may expand over time. The Customer & Business Development Manager should be experienced in working with a range of prospective and existing clients with multiple stakeholders and worked in a software / services provider.Here's how
- Find prospective new clients and drive lead generation activities to create a funnel pipeline of sales opportunities.
- Qualify new opportunities to support the Sales Plan, & Support the Sales Director in preparing business cases for customers
- Engage resources from our product strategy/professional services teams to support sales cycles, & work with marketing to determine marketing plans
- Work with Product Strategy to identify new propositions and offers so that it they are aligned to each client's business and needs.
- Understand the competitive landscape and market trends, and effectively communicate our advantages over competitors.
- Create robust annual customer plans targeting revenue growth with clearly defined actions to execute with alignment across Sales, Services, Support, Infrastructure and Product
- Develop both short term and long term opportunities aligned to customer needs to meet revenue targets
- Proactively manage the communication process including cadence based on the value / size / key account status across all customers to assess their level of satisfaction with TELUS and ability to use as a reference site.
- Establish multiple contacts within the organization to ensure engagement continues regardless of client resource churn.
- Proven experience of establishing a Business Development practice
- Experience within the SaaS and Consumer Goods market space, with an established network within the Consumer Goods / Retail industry
- Ability to maintain high energy levels and results drive, with excellent verbal communication, written and presentation skills
- Independent and self-motivated, with effective time management and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and keep to deadlines.
- Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
- Consultancy based sales approach, with a proven track record of achieving revenue targets from selling SaaS into large corporate organisations
- Consistent history of proven quota attainment, strong closing skills, territory management, negotiation, and product knowledge
- Strong business relationships and network
- Ability to travel to customer sites (10-20%)
