We are currently seeking an experienced and results driven person who can lead from the front to manage our Roadways Surfacing business in southern Tasmania. Based in Glenorchy and reporting to the Chief Operating Officer you will be responsible for the successful delivery of the contractual works program and leadership of two roadways surfacing crews and the asphalt plant team.
As the manager of the Roadways Surfacing southern region you will be required to adhere to contractual requirements including budgets, schedules and performance requirements on time and on target. You will be responsible for the business units financial performance and for communicating and reporting work program status and performance internally and externally.

Additional skills and experience
- Experience with project management in a civil contracting capacity including technical competency, quality assurance, time and cost management and other key deliverables.
- Demonstrated commitment to the Tasmanian Environmental Management and Pollution Control Act, Safety and IR related legislation to ensure safe practices and outcomes on projects
- Ability to lead teams and make effective decisions
- Identify and grow key business opportunities
- A sound understanding and demonstrated experience in procurement and the contract administration
- Assisting the development of your team with technical support and delivery inputs
- Effective verbal and written communication skills that engages all stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships and collaborative approaches with all stakeholders
About You
- An interest and passion for road construction delivery
- Tertiary qualifications and/or related experience within the civil/construction industry in a contracts/project management role is highly desirable
- Commercial acumen and team management experience
- Proficient with MS office suite and comfortable using web-based project and quality platforms
- Current drivers licence
- Ability to work autonomously, demonstrate initiative, prioritise and meet deadlines in a fast paced and changing environment
- Strong attention to detail
