St Edward’s College, Gosford is a Catholic school in the Edmund Rice tradition, catering for boys in Years 7-12. St Edward’s College is governed by EREA NSW Colleges Ltd, which operates seven Catholic schools in the Edmund Rice tradition; five in Greater Sydney, one in Wollongong and one in Gosford.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
As Business Manager, you will have a diverse and interesting role, including responsibility for overseeing the financial, commercial and operational functions of the College. You will work closely with the Principal and College Leadership Team to develop and implement financial and strategic plans, manage budgets, and lead a team of finance and maintenance staff.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in financial management, with experience in budget planning and monitoring, financial reporting, managing cash flow and capital works. Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire a team are also essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
As an integral member of the College Leadership Team, you will have a visible and relational approach, ensuring that the College’s philosophy, aims and objectives are reflected in the role, and ensuring that our financial resources are used effectively to support our mission.

ABOUT YOU:
To succeed in the role you will have:
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Business/Commerce or equivalent (CPA or CA qualification preferred)
- Commitment to the goals and aims of Catholic education in the Edmund Rice tradition
- Professional competence and demeanour, ensuring behaviour and presentation reflects College values
- Strong strategic and organisational skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage the financial functions of a complex organisation, including providing high level financial advice and support, and complex budget advice and support
- Demonstrated ability to manage the provision of services, including buildings, maintenance and cleaning
- Demonstrated ability to provide collegial team leadership, demonstrating behaviours, communication and professional relationship skills to create an atmosphere of collaboration and professional purpose
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills in order to relate to a variety of audiences
- Proficiency in the use of information and communication technologies
- Understanding of or the ability to acquire understanding of the funding arrangements and reporting obligations surrounding the education sector
