Appointment Pool
Ellenbrook Secondary College (SC) is seeking to establish a pool of Business Support Officers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2024. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term 3, 2024
We are seeking self-motivated applicants who can use their initiative and work independently as well as work collaboratively within a team. It will be highly desirable that you can work under pressure with high level of accuracy and attention to detail, with minimal supervision while effectively prioritising and meeting deadlines. Good interpersonal skills will be highly regarded and a willingness to be flexible and adapt to other roles within the school.
Suitable applicants will assist the Manager Corporate Services in a range of Business Operations such as marketing and events, human resource services including relief coordination (includes out of hours contact), financial and information management systems. As a Business Support Officer you would provide effective training and supervision of support staff in administrative procedures and business management software and assist in the maintenance of the facilities and replacement of the school’s physical assets.
Suitable applicants will ideally be proficient in the use of the relevant systems and policies required to maintain, monitor, analyse and extract information using a range of applications such as RM Finance, RM Billing, Recruitment Advertising Management System (RAMS) and Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS).

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Considerable experience providing input and effective support to the development, management, implementation and monitoring of business operations, systems and plans.
- Well-developed financial management skills, including data analysis, interpretation and reporting, and the ability to provide recommendations.
- Sound human resource management knowledge and skills, including the ability to provide effective support and input into the development, implementation and monitoring of human resource management systems and processes.
- Sound verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Sound conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to identify appropriate solutions.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement;
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
