This role reports to the Owner.
· Welcome and seat customers and hand menus to them. Take food and drink orders
· Oversee food and drink preparation: ensure that beverages are prepared according to health and safety regulations and the cafe's standards.
· Order supplies: monitor inventory levels, place orders for food, beverages, and other necessary supplies, and ensure that there is enough stock to meet customer demand. Also review invoices and track expenses.
· Open and close the cafe: ensure that the cafe is opened and closed at the appropriate times. This involves unlocking and locking doors, turning on and off equipment, and checking inventory levels.
· Handle finances: manage the cash register, process payments, reconcile daily cash transactions, and oversee the cafe's cash flow. May also be responsible for budgeting, financial reporting, and tracking sales and expenses.
· Maintain cleanliness and safety: ensure that the cafe is clean and presentable at all times, following health and safety regulations. This includes monitoring cleanliness standards, organizing regular cleaning schedules, and addressing maintenance issues.
· Monitor customer service: ensure that customers have a positive experience by maintaining high standards of customer service. may interact with customers, handle complaints or special requests, and address any issues that arise during the day.
· Manage staff: supervise the cafe staff, including baristas, servers, and kitchen staff; schedule shifts, train employees, assign tasks, and address any performance issues or conflicts.
· Create work schedules: create weekly schedules for the cafe staff, ensuring that there are enough employees to handle busy periods and minimizing labor costs during slower times.
Qualifications/Education
• Relevant diploma degree
Experience/ Knowledge
• At least 2 years of relevant experience
Essential Skills
• Hands-on experience as a Cafe and Restaurant Manager
