We are currently seeking an experienced Café Manager who has a passion for good old-fashioned service to join our Mrs Jones Kitchen Café situated inside our IGA Queen St Village. IGA Queen Street Village is more than just a one stop shop for pantry staples, but rather a foodie destination for those wanting a real shopping experience!

The role:
The Café Manager is the face of our Mrs Jones Kitchen and is an integral part of the connection to the local community and our regular customers. We are looking for someone who relishes in providing outstanding customer service and knows how to make a great coffee or cook an eggs benny whilst inspiring and leading their team. We are looking for someone who;
- Is an experienced leader accountable for all aspects of their Café
- Takes pride in developing a café that is encouraging, warm and welcoming for our customers, community and team members.
- Ensures their café is well stocked, presented and their team provide excellent customer service at all times.
Key responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage team members working in the Café department
- Lead, coach, and develop your team members
- Accurately control stock, pricing and inventory, including placing orders and carrying out stocktake.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and manage customer complaints and queries.
- Achieve sales, gross profit and shrinkage budgets/targets
- Ensure a high standard of presentation
- Implementation of in-store marketing and promotions
- Prioritising and delegating tasks effectively
- Maintain and follow food safety procedures and legislation
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven café management experience
- Proven barista experience
- Previous experience leading and managing a small team, inspirational and passionate about hospitality.
- Ability to implement and act upon performance management processes
- Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to effectively delegate.
- Proactive attitude with the ability to react and adapt quickly
- Highly developed customer service skills
- Previous experience as a cook is advantageous but not a requirement
- Ability to work one weekend day per week
