- Strong decision-making skills with an understanding of strategic business issues, such as rostering and business development with enthusiasm to learn
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (essential)
- First Aid & Mental Health First Aid (preferred)
- Responsible Persons Badge (preferred)
Familiarity with relevant food and work health and safety regulations.
A bachelor's degree or formal qualification in Hospitality Management or a related field is a plus.
ABOUT THE JOB
Working alongside the Head Chef and reporting to the Venue Manager, you will enjoy a dynamic and responsible role. Working closely with other Department Managers you will continue to push the venue to greater success. Flexibility to work 40-45 hours per week over a 7-day roster including Public Holidays is essential. This role requires a majority of day shifts with occasional evening work for functions as required.
Operational Leadership: Manage day-to-day operations of the Pavilion Cafe, including staff scheduling, inventory management, and quality control. Delivering superior and consistent service to maximize the customer experience. Managing all customer interactions with the utmost professionalism.
Team Management: Recruit, train, and supervise cafe staff to deliver exceptional customer service. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment. Carry out performance management procedures as required.
Customer Service Excellence: Uphold The Feathers Hotel's commitment to outstanding customer experiences. Address customer inquiries and feedback promptly and professionally.
Product Offering: Collaborate with the chef to develop and have knowledge of the cafe menu and dietary requirements, ensuring a diverse and appealing selection of food and beverages.
Budget Management: Work within budgetary constraints, monitor expenses, and implement cost-control measures to achieve financial targets.
Marketing and Promotions: Develop and implement strategies to drive cafe traffic, including promotions, events, and marketing initiatives. Ability to achieve required wage budgets through effective rostering and KPI requirements without impacting the quality of food, service, or hygiene
Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and licensing requirements. Upholding and maintaining the highest standard of FOH and BOH hygiene and presentation.
