JOB SUMMARY
(GDB Group) is a vibrant and innovative hospitality company dedicated to creating exceptional dining and social experiences. We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Cafe Manager to join our team and oversee the operations of our bustling venue.
The Cafe Manager will be responsible for overseeing the overall performance and direction of the Cafe. The Cafe Manager will hire, train, and manage the Cafe staff to ensure patrons receive the highest level of customer service possible.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality management, a passion for delivering outstanding customer service, and the ability to lead a dynamic team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and motivate the Cafe team (including: hiring, firing, performance management, and recognition duties)
Train new employees and provide ongoing training for all Cafe staff
Coordinate the Cafe schedule, covering different shifts if necessary
Serve as the lead customer service contact for members at the Cafe, including: answering questions,
welcoming, and other member communications
Establish, monitor and analyse the Cafe budget
Develop and implement Cafe policies and procedures
Manage vendors and maintain inventory
Responsible for keeping Cafe area safe, clean, neat and orderly
Order any supplies needed for the Cafe
Plan menus in consultation with Chefs
Plan and organise private catering, special functions and parties
Report on cash daily cash takings
Report on weekly and monthly income/expenses
Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be highly motivated
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent management and leadership skills
Good organisational skills
An understanding of food and beverage operations
Must be able to work days, evenings, and weekends as necessary
REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience in a supervisory or managerial position
Desire to work in the hospitality industry
Diploma qualification is preferred
