Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) was founded by Fr Werenfried van Straaten in 1947 as a Catholic aid organisation for war refugees. It is the only international Catholic organisation today that focuses on the pastoral and spiritual support of suffering Christians.
Through the offerings of 350,000 benefactors worldwide, ACN raises over $200 million annually and supports some 5,500 projects across 140 countries each year.
ACN Australia and New Zealand began in 1965 and is one of 23 national offices which seeks to raise awareness and financial support for this work. The national office in Australia is based in Penrith, NSW.
About the Role
The Campaigns Coordinator is a vital role providing the engagement between ACN and its closest supporters.
Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, you will manage direct mail campaigns which form the backbone of ACN’s fundraising work; this includes advertising, acquisition, conversion, and retention activities.
You will prepare and manage campaign briefs and production schedules; ensure that supporters receive mailings on time and on budget; measure engagement and responses; and monitor the general fundraising space to ensure continuous improvement and implementation of best fundraising and appeals practices.
You will work collaboratively with the Communications Coordinator and other colleagues to assist in the development of fundraising programs as required.
The role is a full-time role with the opportunity to work one to two days from home.
About You
Your experience in direct marketing and/or fundraising is key to this role.
Just as important are your attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and efficiently.
Specifically, as the ideal candidate for this role, you will meet the following Key Requirements:
- Experience in direct marketing and/or fundraising, with particular focus on mail appeals (desirable)
- Experience with databases, in particular the Raiser’s Edge or database (desirable)
- Interest in working in the Catholic not-for-profit space, with enthusiasm for the mission and work of Aid to the Church in Need
- A high level of attention to detail with the ability to tell stories and produce engaging content
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to edit and proofread text
- Ability to work as part of a small team, building effective relationships with colleagues
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, planning and executing appeals in quick succession to meet project deadlines
- Understanding of and a commitment to the teachings, ethos, values, and mission of the Catholic Church
