About the role
We are looking for a Capability Manager to define and manage the development pathways for our Contact Centre development team which manage implementation and support of Amazon Connect that is used for many NSW Health call centres. This shall include sourcing, allocating, resourcing and inspiring them to continuously improve and develop their respective capabilities as a centre of excellence.
Reporting into the William McPhie (eHealth ServiceNow and Amazon Connect Platform Architect), you will be managing a team of 10 – 1 Principal, 2 Senior and 7 software developers. In this role you shall be responsible for Recruitment, Development and Performance of your team along with liaising with other stakeholders.
In this role you will engage with and:
- Provide leadership and manage capability staff across employment lifecycle covering performance development, coaching, training and career pathways, ensuring culturally aligned organisational behaviours and continuous improvement is embedded to optimise organisational outcomes.
- Support the professional development of team members through deployment, defined learning and career pathways to foster growth mindsets and the adoption of continuous personal development / learning to retain talent and enhance career satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the relevant Program, Product Team, Service Manager, relevant People and Culture representative and the capability member, to facilitate and provide oversight of an individual’s deployment, ensuring role fit and responsibilities are aligned, risks identified, and controls implemented, including succession planning and guardrails.
- Collaboratively develop a roadmap of activities that align to the Service Delivery strategy to ensure that the Capability area can deliver both workforce capacity, competency, and consistency to meet and exceed the expectations of the Directorate.
- Collaborate other SME’s, Resource Managers and equivalent business managers across Programs, Product Teams, and Service Portfolios, to identify, report and manage resource demand needs and issues including developing forecasting, standardised tools and methodologies, negotiating the allocation and re-allocation of resources to optimise delivery and ensuring consistency across eHealth.
- Collaboratively develop the capability area as a centre of excellence and drive innovation implementing and reviewing standardised approaches, templates, methodologies and tools for scaling with other capability leads and managers across Service Delivery including understanding business needs and respective the capabilities to ensure the Program and Project objectives are on track.
- Develop capability matter expertise (CME) and encourage knowledge sharing across the Directorate through programs and capability area groups, as well as supporting communities of practice initiatives.
- Develop effective communication flows, fostering productive and collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of the organisation’s direction is cascaded down to the capability team members.
