About the role
We are seeking a dedicated person for our Doorways Caseworker position! This position will support community members to meet their goals through community partnerships, collaboration and using case management as a tool.
Responsibilities include
- Work collaboratively with Officers, Volunteers, and other co-located Mission Leaders to deliver an integrated approach to delivering casework support to people seeking asylum
- Build and maintain relationships within TSA and with local community stakeholders to identify local resources, community needs, and opportunities for collaboration
- Assessment of community members' specific needs, strengths and identification of interrelated issues and needs
- Support community members to build and increase capacity and develop independent living skills towards self determination
- Complete assessments and referrals for additional financial support e.g., applications for No Interest Loans (NILS), Energy Assistance, following State based practice guides and processes
This is a permanent part-time position, based in Brunswick VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Social and Community Services Lvl 4.
What you will have
- Degree level qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or other Community/Human Services discipline is highly desirable, or a Diploma.
- Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in the community services sector would be considered.
