Cellar Door Manager - Lead Our Award-Winning Experience
To accompany our brand evolution, new vineyard investment and accumulating wine accolades, we seek a passionate Cellar Door Manager to lead our team and further cultivate an outstanding client experience. This leadership role offers a unique opportunity to partner with the Managing Director and oversee the daily operations of our dynamic wine business. You'll play a pivotal role in crafting a refined and luxurious experience across hospitality, direct-to-customer sales, administration, and human resources.
Your Responsibilities
- Hospitality Captain: Lead a large Cellar Door team, providing coaching, development, and performance management. Ensure a seamless and premium customer experience across all touch-points – from Cellar Door visits, wine club memberships, tourism and corporate experiences, menu design and online sales.
- Business Acumen: Partner with the Managing Director to implement budgets and deliver a brand positioning strategy. You will drive our D2C business growth, improve the efficiency of our systems, and further shape our respected client reputation.
- Luxury Events: A keen understanding of grounded luxury clientele. Your expertise in crafting exceptional experiences will be instrumental in delivering remarkable weddings and corporate events that our customers will love.
- Brand Champion: Become an expert in Dominique Portet's rich history, award-winning wines, and family legacy, as a key personality in the business. Contribute to building a best-in-class brand and colleague experience that inspires your team to exceptional customer engagement.
Who You Are
- Proactive and Results-Oriented: You take initiative and ownership, tackling challenges head-on to inspire and guide your team with clear direction. This lead-by-example approach is essential in the fast-paced nature of a family business, where everyone contributes for success.
- Experienced Leader: A minimum of 2 years managing a team within a premium, fast-paced hospitality environment – with success stories working in direct-to-customer sales.
- Strategic: Adept at strategic and financial budgeting, and reasoned price setting.
- Communicator: With a genuine love for crafting exceptional guest experiences, particularly in the wine and/or hospitality industry.
Important: We thrive on weekends! This full-time position requires you to lead your team in person, working weekends and some public holidays. These are our busiest times, allowing you to directly connect and understand the needs a high volume of enthusiastic wine lovers, and be remunerated accordingly.
