The Credit Cards Crew has end-to-end responsibility for the Commonwealth Bank Credit Cards business. We consist of squads that look after the development of the credit card products, acquisition, the growth of our portfolio, our loyalty program and end-to-end process improvement.

Reporting to the Consumer Finance Chapter Area Lead, this Senior Product Management role is pivotal to the Credit Card squad, as the Chapter Lead you will bring your passion for developing people and proven leadership experience to assume responsibility for supporting & developing a team of engaged and customer obsessed product managers. You will have up to 10 direct reports from across different Credit Card squads and inspire strategic innovation to grow and develop a high performing product chapter where we deliver great outcomes for our customers and support our people in their development. As a senior member of the credit card squad you will also play a critical role in helping the shaping the product offerings, enhancing customer experiences and driving business growth, whilst also being responsible for ensuring changes are safely executed and risk outcomes are met. This is a fundamental and impactful role in the team responsible for one of the biggest credit card portfolios in Australia.
Key responsibilities will include
  • Leadership: Leading and developing a team of Product Managers by creating a psychologically safe, inclusive, accountable and high performance culture, which promotes cross-skilling, sharing best practise and a curious mindset to remove key-man risk within the Product Chapter for the crew.
  • Product strategy: Contribute to the development and execution of the Credit Cards product line strategy from solution development through to delivery
  • Market research and analytics: Identify trends, customer preferences, regulations and competitive landscape to inform product development
  • Product development: Lead the end-to-end product development process, from ideation and concept development to launch, ensuring products are designed to meet market demands
  • Risk management: Responsible for proactively managing risks including performance of regular controls, robust product governance, identification of issues, escalation and swift resolution of issues including remediation
  • Customer experience: Continuously improve the customer experience by reviewing and enhancing product features, benefits and digital experience
  • Financial performance: Manage the financial performance of the credit card portfolio, optimising revenue and profitability through pricing, fees and rewards programs
  • Cross functional collaboration: Work closely with cross functional teams, including finance, marketing, compliance, technology and distribution to ensure seamless product delivery
  • Compliance: Ensure that credit card products comply with all relevant regulatory requirements and assist with regulatory responses
  • Performance Analysis: Analyse product performance, KPIs and customer complaints to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for growth

  • Proven track record of coaching and developing teams to uplift capability
  • Advanced ability to drive outcomes and execute on a roadmap of initiatives
  • Advanced communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including the ability to progress multiple initiatives concurrently
  • Proven problem solving skills coupled with a strong ability be customer centric and think differently about strategies to grow the portfolio
  • Strong planning and time management skills with the ability to deal with competing priorities and upcoming due dates
  • Strong cards product knowledge is preferred, experience managing banking products highly regarded
  • Ability to think analytically and use data and insights to make decisions
  • Experience in delivering strong outcomes in an Agile environment
  • Tertiary qualification in a Business / Commerce Degree Preferred
