Our client is a well-known and highly respected Professional Services firm with a network of offices across New Zealand. The Professional Services firm provides market leading advice to a range of clients across various sectors and service lines. Underpinned by market leading technical capability, strong client relationships and a positive service culture; the firm has experienced strong market growth in recent years.
Based in Auckland (New Zealand), reporting to the National Board of Directors, the Chief Operating Officer will bring an enablement and facilitation mindset to the position. The National Board is responsible for setting firm wide strategy, with the Chief Operating Officer leading the National Team (30+ people) across the office network, accountable for implementation. Functions reporting to the Chief Operating Officer include People & Capability, Technology, Clients & Marketing, Compliance, Quality and Risk.
The Chief Operating Officer will call upon a high level of collaboration and co-operation to facilitate and enable action across the National network, partnering a number of senior stakeholders including office leaders, sector and service line leaders and the National Board, and is a direct report to the National Chair.
Accordingly, we are seeking expressions of interest from individuals who have:
- Experience leading a multi-functional Operations/Corporate Services team (Technology, People, Marketing, Risk etc). It would be advantageous if this experience comes from the Professional Services sector, however, we will also consider those with experience across co-operatives, mutuals, and other service orientated businesses which necessitate sophisticated stakeholder engagement.
- Advanced stakeholder management and influencing skills, and a proven track record of partnering with internal stakeholders to enable the implementation of value creating enterprise strategy.
- High levels of energy and enthusiasm, underpinned by a genuine and authentic leadership capability.
- Demonstrated ability to add value to business outcomes through the application of support services across different functional areas (marketing, technology, people and risk management).
- Confident, open and transparent communication skills, with a proven ability to build meaningful relationships, earning respect and trust through honouring commitments and performance track record.
- A personal drive and motivation to work collaboratively across a network to enable outstanding internal and external client service.
