What you will be doing:
An exciting opportunity is available for a highly qualified Radiographer to join the Radiology team with Blue Mountains Hospital on a permanent full time basis as the Chief Radiographer. In conjunction with the Nepean Chief Radiographer and the Director of Radiology the Chief Radiographer will provide a quality diagnostic imaging service in accordance with the accepted professional practice and standards, and policies of the Nepean and Blue Mountains Local Health District. This position is responsible for the daily management and operation of the Medical Imaging Department, including staff rostering and performance development, patient scheduling/ booking, protocol and policy management, quality assurance and equipment maintenance schedules. The Chief Radiographer will demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and have extensive clinical experience whilst managing the service. The Chief Radiographer will participate in a 7-day and call back roster as required.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
Selection Criteria to be Addressed: * Possess a degree in Medical Radiation Science, current registration with AHPRA as a Medical Radiation Practitioner and a current I14 and GE1 Radiation Licence from NSW EPA.
- Demonstrated experience and/ or qualifications related to Health Administration or Management including the proven ability to supervise, instruct and mentor staff.
- Demonstrated high standard of knowledge and clinical experience in imaging across a range of examinations and modalities.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritise, problem solve, organise own workload and delegate duties
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and undertake clinical service strategic planning, implementation and evaluation
- Familiarity with relevant radiation and national accreditation requirements.
- Valid unrestricted drivers' licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment.
