CSPL is a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy with offices based in Brisbane (Toowong), Tamworth and Toowoomba. We provide civil and environmental engineering design and management solutions with specific expertise in the project management of civil infrastructure. Our clients comprise State government, local councils, resource sector companies. renewable energy proponents and other private enterprises. 

the position

The full time position being offered is based in Tamworth, northern NSW. You will be responsible for a variety of projects, with work allocated to suit the experience and future development needs of the successful applicant. The exact nature of work will vary, depending on the nature of the projects that CSPL has been engaged to complete at the time however, demonstrated engineering experience in project management associated with civil infrastructure projects is highly desirable.

Typical civil works may include the preconstruction and construction project management of infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, and drainage for local and state government agencies as well as the for the resource sector and renewable energy proponents. 

Other engineering related works may include design review, preparation of tender documentation, tender and contract administration, preparation of professional reports such as Traffic and Transport Assessments and feasibility studies for new developments for example.

A key role will be providing engineering advice to State and Local Government agencies. Accordingly, excellent communication and effective and constructive client liaison will form a significant component of the work.

the PERSON

The person we are looking for will need to have the following blend of qualifications, experience, and qualities:

• A degree in Civil Engineering including eligibility for Membership of Engineers Australia and/or Project Management qualifications.
• Highly developed written and oral communication skills 
• Ethical, trustworthy and is committed to the honest and open delivery of services.
• Ability to listen to Clients and develop solutions to meet their needs.
• Seeks solutions, wants to make a difference and is prepared to think outside the box
• Respects and supports other team members.
• Self-motivated and positive.
• Can manage competing and changing work priorities.
• Able to work with a high degree of autonomy.
• Experience in preparing environmental assessments and environmental management plans is highly desirable.
• Experience in working n a consulting environment would be well regarded.

Applicants will ideally have at least five (5) years Civil Engineering experience in Australia and employment is conditional on the applicant holding a current NSW drivers’ licence. 

Being a CPEng would be highly desirable, as would experience in the road or bridge field.

Applicants must be currently living in Australia and be able to legally work in Australia.
