Join the Sydney Youth Cancer Service and make a positive impact on the lives of adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with cancer and their support networks.Where you'll be workingThe Sydney Youth Cancer Service is a specialist cancer treatment and support service for adolescents and young adults (AYAs) aged 15-25 years and their support networks. We recognise young people face unique challenges following a cancer diagnosis which require age-appropriate clinical and psychosocial support.Our services are delivered by a specialist team including an AYA oncologist, Clinical Nurse Consultants, Social Worker and Clinical Psychologists. This new part-time Clinical Neuropsychologist role will be a key member of the multidisciplinary team providing optimal care to young people with cancer and their support networks. Specifically, this role will provide neuropsychology services to AYAs and support research into models of survivorship care in collaboration with the University of NSW.This is a unique opportunity to join an established and dedicated team of health professionals with expertise in AYA oncology, psychosocial care and research. This role will be well supported by the Sydney Youth Cancer Service team with access to professional support by the larger psychology group within Cancer Services. Opportunities for education and training in AYA oncology, survivorship and research are available.What you'll be doingAs part of the AYA multidisciplinary team, this role will provide evidence-based neuropsychology services to adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with cancer and their support networks. In addition to providing direct clinical care, this role will contribute to research exploring survivorship models of care including neuropsychology assessment and support, that ensure young people with at-risk mental health, cognitive functioning, and educational/career goals have access to tailored support.Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.All workers and new recruits are required to receive 2 doses of a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine to commence employment/ engagement or continue to work within a NSW Health service.A worker and new recruit will be considered compliant if they have a medical contraindication to all available Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccines and provide medical contraindication evidence in line with the policy requirements.In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position.SESLHD is committed to creating a workplace that reflects the diversity of our community. If you have any questions or would like guidance on the recruitment process, please contact the SESLHD Aboriginal Employment Team via email to:Selection Criteria: * Full Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA), with Endorsement in Clinical Neuropsychology (or eligibility to progress towards same), along with a minimum two-year full-time APAC-accredited postgraduate Master’s degree or higher in Clinical Neuropsychology.

• Demonstrated experience in neuropsychological assessment, formulation and intervention with children and/or adolescents and/or young adults.
• Demonstrated experience in a neuropsychology role within a rehabilitation setting, including assessment of capacity as it relates to study, work and driving and decision-making capacity.
• Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit the target audience including the ability to communicate in a sensitive and professional manner with patients, family members/carers, and staff.
• Capacity to provide support and education on neuropsychological issues for staff.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved patient and/or consumer care and outcomes.
• Demonstrated experience in and commitment to quality improvement and research
