The CNC position is based in BEAT is currently located in Mt Druitt. Blacktown Early Access Team (BEAT) provides specialist mental health intervention to young people aged between 12 and 24 years. The team works comprehensively to provide effective treatment for this age group. BEAT provides treatment of young persons aged between 12 and 24 presenting with a diagnosed moderate to complex mental illness who require specialist mental health intervention. These mental health diagnoses may include psychotic disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders and those presenting with complex trauma.BEAT provides a range of evidence based interventions to improve mental health outcomes for the young person. Core work activities include Early Intervention, Early Detection and Prevention, including Health Promotion and improved resilience building strategies for young people of the service. The role also includes working with the young person’s family, providing family work, in collaboration with other members of the team.The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) provides developmentally considered, trauma informed assessments, interventions and care coordination to young people experiencing acute and complex mental health concerns who live within the Blacktown and Mt Druitt LGA.How to Apply

- Registration in line with Award requirements: Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Post registration nursing/midwifery qualifications in Mental Health/ Child & Adolescent or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
- Demonstrated high level clinical experience in the provision of mental health service delivery working in collaboration with children and youth (and their families) with acute and moderate to severe mental health issues and/or related high complex needs. This would include all aspects of assessment, acute therapeutic intervention strategies and care coordination to ensure smooth transitions of care.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to initiate, lead and evaluate evidence-based clinical practice development and Quality Improvement Programmes.
- Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) and advanced computer literacy and information technology skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and develop/ maintain professional relationships and networks across multiple disciplines
- Demonstrated working knowledge of NSW Mental Health Act 2007.
- Current valid NSW drivers licence and willing to use for work purposes.
