Garrawarra Centre is located just south of Waterfall on the outskirts of the Royal National Park, and due to the location, the facility is not accessible by public transport.The Clinical Nurse Consultant Aged Care – Palliative and Behaviour Support position at Garrawarra Centre is part of the Clinical Practice team, and is responsible for providing expert consultation and support to staff on managing changed behaviours, palliative care and potential admissions.Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.All Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position.SESLHD is committed to creating a workplace that reflects the diversity of our community. - Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse/Midwife, Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and current NSW Driver's License (or a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).
- Minimum five years full time equivalent post qualification experience, with at least three years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field and post graduate qualifications relevant to the field of practice.
- Proven clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework.
- An understanding of the practice development framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practice
- Demonstrated effective communication and inter-personal skills across a variety of mediums.
- Proven ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice by the utilisation of evidence based research.
- Understanding of Residential Aged Care Facility requirements.
- Demonstrated participation in the Quality Improvement process.
