Applications Close: Sunday 7th July 2024About the role:This dynamic role will see you provide complex patient centred consultancy across the three units within Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services (PRS). You will lead the ongoing review of clinical practice at Morisset and within wider Hunter New England Local Health District Mental Health Services.You will play a vital part in initiating, developing, implementing, and evaluating strategic changes, whilst having a lead role in quality activities, research projects and governance processes on-site.You will be supported to develop significant education resources for patients and their families, as well as nurses and other health professionals. In addition, you will have the opportunity to grow your skills by participating in the Nursing and Midwifery Services research internship.To aid your success in this role, support will be provided by the Senior Nurse Manager, After Hours Nurse Managers, Nurse Unit Managers, Clinical Nurse Coordinators and a Senior Administration Officer.Where you’ll be working:Morisset Hospital provides extended care Mental Health Rehabilitation to consumers under the Mental Health Act and the Mental Health and Cognitive Impairment Forensic Provisions Act 2020, with a focus on developing skills and building resilience.We are currently collaborating on the design phase for an exciting new facility build in the Maitland area, where it is planned that the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services will relocate in 2027.About You:We are looking for an experienced mental health clinician with a passion for mental health nursing. You will ideally have an understanding of mental health rehabilitation principles, or a willingness to learn.Benefits:

- Registered Nurse with current authority to practice with APRHA, with at least five years post graduate nursing with three years Mental Health experience.
