Clinical Nurse Educator - Palliative, Greenwich

We specialise in aged and dementia care, palliative care, rehabilitation, mental health services for older people, and other related health and aged care services. This fixed-term, 12 months part-time role (3 days per week) of Clinical Nurse Educator works within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to contribute to the achievement of HammondCares organisational goals by delivering clinical education programs that assist staff in providing high-quality care that is customer-focused.

The Clinical Nurse Educator works in partnership with the Nursing Unit Manager (NUM), CNCs, HammondCare Health Education Lead and other clinical managers to ensure education activities build and maintain a cohesive clinical team.

The essence of this role:

• Provide educational leadership and clinical guidance to unit staff to foster the development of knowledge and skills in the area of speciality
• Promote a culture of enquiry and learning that facilitates the development of person-centred practice
• Work in partnership with the Nursing Unit Manager (NUM), CNCs, Hammond College and other clinical managers to ensure education activities build and maintain a cohesive clinical team
• Deliver Clinical Nurse education in the unit and provide educational programs based on needs analysis
• Evaluate clinical education programs and report/discuss outcomes with the NUM to ensure effectiveness

• Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
• Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment or currently enrolled in the program would be an advantage
• Relevant Post Graduate qualification in palliative care and/ or extensive clinical experience in speciality
• Education qualification or willingness to complete would be an advantage.
• Demonstrated skills in developing, delivering and evaluating education programs
• Proven ability to provide clinical leadership and act as a resource person/mentor for nursing staff
• Evidence of initiation/participation in Quality Improvement initiatives
• Experience as a Clinical Nurse Educator or Clinical Nurse Specialist would be an advantage
• Experience managing a team of skilled professionals
• Strong administrative and computer skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
