Murwillumbah Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CNS2) Respiratory Disease Management to coordinate and deliver high quality nursing care to patients/clients in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia’s National Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses, criteria for CNS2 as outlined in the Public Hospital Nurses and Midwives (State) Award 2017 and the Policies and Procedures of the Ministry of Health (MoH) and Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD).
Providing an advanced level of care coordination, case management and expert advice following the principles of evidence based clinical practice to support people with chronic Respiratory Disease, their carers, General Practitioners, practice staff and other staff involved in the provision of care. Working with relevant stake holders providing nursing care advice for the management of complex respiratory conditions and will exhibit an advanced level of professional leadership and autonomous clinical practice.
About you:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) and at least 3 years’ full time equivalent clinical experience in the management of clients with respiratory/chronic disease; with a post graduate qualification in a specialty related to Respiratory nursing
- Evidence of clinical leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework to plan, deliver and coordinate patient care
- Ability to apply advanced clinical expertise in relation to clinical nursing practice and independently make decisions that support good patient care outcomes
- Knowledge, understanding and experience in the provision of education to persons that have a high risk of and/or existing pulmonary conditions
- Experience in supporting the implementation of self-care management strategies and the coordination and supervision of pulmonary rehabilitation programs
