Algester Sports Club is a leading Brisbane Southside Bowls and Community Club that operates highly rated Lawn Bowls greens and Licensed operations including Gaming (60 EGM’s), Bar, Restaurant and Function facilities.
Reporting to the Board, the Manager is responsible for the profitable running and growth of the entire business.
This high-profile role demands commitment from a passionate individual, who can demonstrate resilience and perseverance in a high-pressure environment with exceptional communication skills and who is able to manage and satisfy multiple stakeholders.
Algester Sports Club is a Community Club and the responsibility of the Manager is to actively engage with our neighbours and community groups within our catchment area including Schools, Junior Sporting clubs, Little Athletics, Scouts and Guides etc
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate:
- A proven track record in a similar role in the club industry
- Good working relationship with Clubs QLD and OLGR and Brisbane City Council
- High levels of financial acumen, preferably with good working knowledge and experience with MYOB or similar package
- Sound knowledge in food, beverage and function areas
- A high level of gaming and compliance history on council, gaming & liquor licencing requirements
- Strong leadership and human resource skills
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Sound financial knowledge and written skills
- RSA, RSG, RMLV, Approved Manager certification
- Preparedness to become the Club's Gaming Nominee
We are looking for an individual that will:
- Ensure that customers are WOWed at every intersection
- Develop and implement the Marketing Strategy, specific objectives and targets with the Marketing Manager, as agreed
- Constantly look for improvements and assist staff in accepting changes and develop to their full potential
- Think strategically and be prepared to put forward initiatives and recommendations to the Board
- Lead and motivate a team to deliver excellent customer service and be able to make "tough decisions"
- Prioritise and manage multiple activities concurrently
- Be prepared to put in a solid 40-50 flexible working hours per week, including a sizable portion of night and weekend work including Friday’s and Saturdays on a rotational roster.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation requirements particularly in the areas of gaming and liquor licencing, local council, OFT, financial performance and taxation
Remuneration:
To ensure that we attract the right candidate, an attractive remuneration package of $100k + will be offered, including 12% superannuation and 5 weeks annual leave.
