Newcastle Coffee is offering a fantastic opportunity to be part of an exciting specialty coffee roasting team. This role would suit an experienced, specialty coffee barista looking to take their coffee knowledge and skills to the next level. We do not necessarily require roasting experience, more important are a customer focused approach, willingness to learn, and problem solving skills.
About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager you will be leading the warehouse team and managing the work with a friendly and supportive team; responsible for coordinating production and warehousing tasks such as stock movement, deliveries and assisting with packing and dispatching the finished product. You’ll also be taking orders from clients, operating coffee roasting equipment, plant maintenance and cleaning, conducting quality assurance.
This position has the following responsibilities
- You will be the accountable person for the warehouse
- Managing the cleanliness of the warehouse
- Production coordinator
- Specialty coffee roasting
- Taking and processing orders from wholesale clients
- Packing coffee and fulfilling orders
- Assisting with stock movement and receiving deliveries
- Plant maintenance and cleaning
- Roastery tours
- Cupping
- Assisting with barista duties and coffee knowledge during sales meetings

The ideal candidate has
- Experience in a coffee roasting role and working in a warehouse environment
- Barista skills with strong knowledge of the day-to-day service environment
- Strong initiative with the ability to improve and follow systems
- Problem solving skills
- Competency with computers and software including cloud-based software
- Administrative and operational organisation skills
- Technical skills with machinery and a willingness to learn how they work
- Ability to work independently
- Full timework Monday to Friday
